Old Soldier Reflecting

On this soft pastel on Colourfix paper, I was trying to capture the conflict in the old Mujahideen warrior, with the past and the future as he reflects. I used an abstract background to create a tension between the modern and the past. Hopefully I have given the dignity to a people who have pretty well seen it all and continue to experience even more changes.
