Back From Vacation

Sun Jun 3, 2007, 6:32 PM
New York City & Philadelphia

Besides visiting and enjoying the kids, I had some quality art experiences in both cities.
My second visit to the NY Museum of Art renders me speachless.  Each time I visit such museums I try to concentrate on two or three artists.  This time it was Rembrandt (of coarse), Rodin, Degas (as always), and Cezanne (who continues to amaze me).  I find I'm using some of my meager knowledge gained in my present project drawing Muse :iconmuse1979:.  It isn't evident yet but in my next posting one will notice the connection I think.
Point being that; I think it is so important that we, when possible, take the opportunity to see the masters works.  they contain so much information that helps our continued improvement in our own art.
Thanks to all for your wonderful and continued support of which is so important to me. :salute:

  • Listening to: Ennie Morricone
  • Reading: neglecting my reading
  • Watching: the history channel
  • Playing: Yo Yo Ma playing Morricone

Oh my, Rodin, Degas and Cezanne! You are soooo lucky! You had a wonderful time, I am glad for you and just a tiny little bit jealous. I guess I should visit the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam (only 18 miles from my place) SOOOON...bye dear Bob!

My dear Nancy, I would be living at the Van Gogh museum if it were that close LOL. Thank you form the kind words. No reason to be jealous. I think I'm the one to envy. The Dutch painters are some of my biggest heroes.
